OK, so last winter was mild by most New Englander’s standards. Hell, our plow guy only came 3 times the whole winter! That hasn’t happened in as long as I can remember. But, as we all know, a warm winter can just as likely be followed by a crazy cold winter like we had a few years back. Remember that one? Snow storms just about every weekend. A couple of those storms dropped record amounts of snow on Western MA.
So, what’s this winter going to bring? Your guess is as good as ours. But we do browse some of the more reliable weather predictors for our region. And those Government agencies are predicting a colder winter.
NOAA is predicting an increase in Arctic air dipping into the norther US and Great Lakes Region. Will that Lake-effect snow reach Western MA? Depending on the size of the storm and how far south the jet stream pulls that cold air …. we could see some serious snow.
So what can you do?
Don’t wait for your heating system to break down. Murphy’s Law – they always stop working on the coldest days. Usually at night. And more often than not it’s on a weekend. So call and get your heating system checked BEFORE winter’s cold hits.
